YUCCA VALLEY MAN SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS IN 2013 MURDER

A Yucca Valley man who accepted a plea bargain last month in his murder trial for shooting another man four years ago was sentenced to 30 years in the state prison in Chino last week. Brian Cline, 34, was arguing with Martin Reyes, 35, on April 18, 2013, in the 6300 block of Hermosa Avenue in Yucca Valley when Cline pulled out a gun and fired several shots at Reyes, hitting him once in the face. Reyes was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he subsequently died. Cline fled on foot, but was found hiding on a roof at Hermosa and Barron Drive. Cline pleaded guilty November 8. Last Wednesday, December 13, Brian Cline was sentenced to 7 years for attempted murder with an additional 20 years for using a firearm; and two years for voluntary manslaughter with an additional one year for using a firearm.
