YUCCA VALLEY MAN KILLED IN I-10 CRASH IN WHITEWATER SUNDAY

A 75-year-old Yucca Valley man has been identified as the fatal victim in a collision on the 10 freeway in Whitewater early Sunday. Paul James Preshaw was driving eastbound in a 2015 Dodge van in the slow lane approaching the Highway 62 interchange about 12:30 a.m. when he collided with the rear of a 2016 Freightliner big rig for an unknown reason, according to the California Highway Patrol. The van veered to the right and collided with a tree on the side of the freeway. Paul Preshaw was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Benjamin L. Sellers, 47, of Marshall, N.C., and a passenger, Kelly Light, 48, of Tennessee, were not hurt. The CHP is investigating the collision and anyone with information should contact the CHP office in Indio at 760-772-8911.
