YUCCA VALLEY MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN TRAILER ARRESTED

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday after he was found with a stolen trailer. According to a Sheriff’s report, the Yucca Valley Multiple Enforcement Team made a vehicle check on a white van with an attached black trailer in the parking lot of Dollar General in Yucca Valley about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mark Jewett, 55, was a passenger in the van and had two active warrants for his arrest. Deputies conducted a records check of the trailer and discovered it had been reported stolen in Yucca Valley two years ago. Jewett admitted he had the trailer for more than a year. Deputies contacted the legal owner of the trailer who said he did not know Jewett and did not give him permission to have the trailer. Mark Jewett was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
