YUCCA VALLEY MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN PROPERTY AND A GUN

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday morning after he was found with stolen property and a gun. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies investigating a residential burglary served a search warrant at a home in the 55800 block of Mountain View Trail in Yucca Valley about 10:45 a.m. At the home was Derek Carter, 32, who is on felony probation. During the search, deputies located evidence identifying Carter as the primary suspect in the residential burglary, along with stolen property and a loaded firearm. Derek Carter was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
