YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER EVADING DEPUITES

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday night after he fled from a Sheriff’s deputy in Landers. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Warrick, a deputy tried to stop a blue pick-up truck about 11:35 p.m. near Reche Road and Belfield Boulevard for equipment violations. The driver sped off and turned south onto Vans Ranch Road, where the deputy lost sight of the truck due to a large cloud of dust that had been kicked up. The truck was later found abandoned near Napa Street, east of Delgada Avenue. Evidence at the scene led investigators to a home in the 56200 block of Handley Road, where they arrested Christopher Fruhn, 47, on suspicion of felony evading, and on five warrants for his arrest for petty theft, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended license. Christopher Fruhn was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $275,000.
