YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED AFTER BASEBALL BAT THREAT

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday after he threated to hit another man with a baseball bat. According to a Sheriff’s report, Gilbert Mendoza, 31, drove to a home in the 7400 block of Cherokee Trail to buy drugs about 3 p.m. While he was there, he started arguing with another man, at which time Mendoza allegedly grabbed a bat from his vehicle and threatened to hit the other man. When the victim called deputies for help, Mendoza fled the scene but he was later located. Gilbert Mendoza was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
