YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ROBBING MOTEL GUEST

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Tuesday, accused of robbing a motel guest Thursday afternoon. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim took an Uber ride to a motel in the 56500 block of 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. When he arrived about 3:30 p.m., he told deputies he was jumped by two men, who kicked and punched him multiple times in his face before stealing his belongings. One of whom was identified as Michael Briones, 21. Deputies located Michael Briones in the 7100 block of Sage Avenue in Yucca Valley about 11:15 a.m. and arrested him on suspicion of robbery, and for multiple warrants. Briones was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his total bail set at $165,000.
