YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF RAPE IS ARRESTED

A Yucca Valley man was arrested yesterday after a woman said he raped her last week. According to a Sheriff’s report, the woman said she met a man named “Carlos,” later identified as Carlos Flores, 31, in an emergency room July 24. They went to Palm Springs, and the woman told Sheriff’s deputies that when they returned to the woman’s home, he forced himself on her. The report states she waited to contact police because she was too embarrassed, and didn’t think she could report a rape since she had invited him inside. After an investigation, Carlos Flores was arrested at a residence in the 6200 block of Hoot Owl Trail in Yucca Valley. He was booked at West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $250,000.
