YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ELDER ABUSE, FALSE IMPRISONMENT

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Thursday after he tried to prevent a woman from leaving her home. Deputies were called to the 1600 block of Wamego Trail in Yucca Valley for a domestic disturbance call about 8:40 p.m. Thursday. Deputies determined that James Nobles, 39, was violating a domestic violence restraining order against a 68-year-old woman, and that he prevented her from leaving her property by securing all the gates with locks. The woman, who wanted to go grocery shopping, drove her vehicle through the property’s gates, and then called 911. Deputies found Nobles inside a trailer on the property and he was taken into custody without incident. While deputies were on the scene, they discovered multiple stolen vehicles and miscellaneous stripped vehicle parts on the property. James Nobles was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, elder abuse, and false imprisonment, and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
