YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER IN BIG BEAR CRASH

A Yucca Valley man is accused of intentionally slamming his vehicle into a tree in Big Bear during a fight with his female passenger. County sheriff’s officials said Raymond Moomey, 41, of Yucca Valley, fled after the crash but was found and arrested later on suspicion of attempted murder. A press release said shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, Big Bear station deputies were called to a crash in the 39000 block of Lakeview Drive in Big Bear Lake. In the vehicle, deputies found a 44-year-old woman and learned Moomey, the driver, crashed the vehicle in the tree before running off. The woman suffered minor injuries. Through an investigation, deputies located Moomey at his Yucca Valley home in the 56200 block of Papago Trail and arrested him Monday on suspicion of attempted murder, felony spousal abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and vehicle theft. Raymond Moomey pleaded not guilty during his arraignment yesterday and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
