YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF ABUSING YOUNGER SIBLINGS

A 20-year-old Yucca Valley man was arrested Monday evening, accused of hitting and choking his younger siblings. According to a Sheriff’s report, Steven Levitt became angry at his 1-year-old stepbrother when he started crying. A witness said Levitt picked up the boy and began to choke him, and then choked his sister and mother, as well as punching his stepsister in her stomach. Levitt told deputies he had stopped taking his medications because he had been feeling better but that he was becoming angry with his family. After an investigation, Steven Levitt was arrested on suspicion of felony child cruelty and misdemeanor assault, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $125,000.
