YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL GOING TO CIF QUARTER FINALS SATURDAY

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans volleyball team beat Mary Star of The Sea in last night’s second-round CIF match in 3 sets to 2. Coach Darrell Sterling said the Lady Trojans will play quarter finals this Saturday at a time and place yet to be announced. 
Sets: 25-23, 25-22, 17-25, 21-25, 16-14.
 
Freshman outside hitter EJ Day had 17 kills, 10 digs and two blocks.
Sophomore opposite hitter Rily Vallo had 13 kills, 12 digs.
Sophomore opposite hitter Julia Conrad had five kills, two blocks.
Senior middle blocker Emily Vigrass six kills, three solo blocks, two assisted blocks, and three digs.
Junior middle blocker Zena Yakimow had six kills, seven blocks, four digs and two assists.
Senior setter Becky Messaros had three kills, seven serving aces, 24 assists, two digs, and one block.
Junior setter Alessa Luckino had 22 assists, and three digs.
Junior Libero Becca Dumas had 39 receptions, 23 digs, and one assist.
Senior defense specialist Joelle Hazher had 18 receptions, six digs, one assist.
Junior defense specialist Lily Murillo had eight receptions, and seven digs.
