YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM REMAINS UNDEFEATED; WINS HOMECOMING 70 TO 8

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team remains undefeated, as it beat Desert Mirage High School during Yucca Valley’s 50th annual homecoming game Friday night, 70 to 8. Senior Lucas Lopez was named the overall player of the game for his five touchdowns (four rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown) and 103 yards rushing. Junior quarterback Elijah Lynch was named offensive player of the game for his 195 yards passing, four touchdowns passing, and five out five completions. Junior Albert Montes-reyes was named defensive player of the game for his two solo tackles, five assists, and a 79-yard interception for a touchdown. Joe Jennings led the defensive side of the ball with 13 tackles. Junior Travis Mathews was special teams player of the game with one solo tackle and four assists.

The junior varsity team beat Desert Mirage 34-6. The JV team is also 6-0 for the year.
