YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL BEATS CITRUS VALLEY

The number 11 seed Yucca Valley High School Football team defeated the number 5 seeded Citrus Valley Blackhawks 20-7 Thursday night at Trojan Stadium. Coach Tim Cannavo said, “The Trojan defense held Citrus to 182 total yards and caused five turnovers and two sacks.” Joey Rutherford had nine tackles and a fumble recovery. Shayne Saiza contributed six tackles, one sack, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. On offense, Logan Vallo ran for 130 yards, caught three passes for 48 yards and had another 21 on returns. Gabe Sosa added 90 more yards to his season totals. Sosa, Vallo, and quarterback Bradley Soares all had touchdown runs. Next Friday the Trojans travel to Barstow for their homecoming game.
