Yucca Valley High School was the only desert school to send two girls to the state CIF wrestling championships in Visalia February 27 and 28. Senior Vanesa Crontreras made it to the top 16 before being eliminated, and junior Katherine Kennedy made it to the top 12, and beat every junior in California before being defeated by two seniors. Vanesa Contreras will continue wrestling for Lyons College next year.
