WONDER VALLEY MAN SHOOTS OFF TOE WITH SHOTGUN

A Wonder Valley man shot off his little toe with a shotgun Monday night while checking his property for intruders. The man, who was identified by Twentynine Palms firefighters only as being in his late 20s or early 30s, was driven to the Twentynine Palms fire station by his girlfriend about 9 p.m. Paramedics wrapped up his left foot and Morongo Basin Ambulance took him to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The Sheriff’s Department, which gives the victim’s address as being in the 3900 block of Damascus Road, is investigating.
