WOMAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING FIGHT WITH HER FORMER BOYFRIEND

A Cathedral City woman was arrested Thursday after a fight with her ex-boyfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, Viola Jackson-Gentry, 19, had gone on board the Combat Center to retrieve her belongings from her former boyfriend, who is a Marine. The two began arguing and Jackson-Gentry allegedly began hitting her ex-boyfriend with her fists. Staff in the barracks told Jackson-Gentry to leave, and her ex-boyfriend followed her into the parking garage to help her load her belongings. The argument escalated again, and the Marine began running, chased by Jackson-Gentry. The report states that Jackson-Gentry threw a glass plate at her former boyfriend, which hit him in the cheek and caused a deep laceration. After an investigation, Viola Jackson-Gentry was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
