WOMAN ACCUSED OF STABBING TWO IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Desert Hot Springs woman was arrested in Twentynine Palms, accused of stabbing two people. About 10:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the area of Baseline Road and Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms by a man who said he had been stabbed. The responding deputy applied a tourniquet to the man’s arm, which was bleeding profusely; the victim also had lacerations to his face and wrist. Due to the severity of his injuries, deputies were not able to question him about the circumstances of his stabbing before he was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs for treatment. While on the scene with the male victim, deputies received additional calls about the stabbing, including one from Hi-Desert Medical Center to say that a second victim was at the hospital. Deputies went to the hospital and learned from the victim that her sister, Indica Carey, 22, had been arguing with her and the male victim and stabbed them both. Deputies searched for Carey and found her in the 74500 block of Baseline Road. Carey allegedly identified herself as another sister, even after she was told she was being taken into custody. Indica Carey was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, false impersonation, and committing a felony while out on bail. Deputies also said Carey refused to give her fingerprints when she was being booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where her bail was set at $50,000.
