WILDFIRE STATUS UPDATE

As of 11 p.m. Friday night the Mountain fire between Palm Springs and Idyllwild had grown to over 27000 acres, and was listed as 15% contained. Firefighters had been able to make excellent progress on the southeast side of the fire near Trails End on Morris Ranch Road in Garner Valley during Friday. Friday morning, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department issued an Evacuation Warning for the community of Pine Cove. They recommended that any community members who feel threatened should evacuate. All residents in the area were told to prepare for a possible Evacuation Order and be ready to leave if an Order is issued.
