WILDFIRE STATUS UPDATE

On Saturday, firefighters made substantial progress against the Mountain Fire, which has been burning between Palm Springs and Idyllwild since Monday afternoon. As of Sunday morning, it is listed as 49% contained, with full containment expected by Friday, August 26. In the wake of overnight rains, and forecasted continuing thunderstorm activities, a flash flood warning has been issued for the area of the fire.
