    10:00 AM-1:00 PM
    04-15-2017

EarthFest Joshua Tree is a family & earth-friendly day celebrating kids, animals and the planet! The event is presented by Mojave Animal Protection and takes place April 15, 2017, in the courtyard at Art Queen at 61855 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. The fun begins at 1000am and wraps up at 100pm. EarthFest Joshua Tree is a smoke, alcohol and balloon free event. There is no charge to attend and all are welcome.

The day’s activities include a Mutt Strut during which children can bring their dog onto Art Queen’s stage and introduce him or her to the crowd (parental assistance as needed). Children can also take the stage and show off their animal and nature themed clothing during MAP’s Green Carpet Walk.

Joshua Tree National Park’s Ranger Sara will be onsite at noon to deliver a presentation on Desert tortoise protection. Other presentations include; Cactus 4 Kids by Cactus Mart’s Nicole Hartwig-Holland and Balloons Blow by MAP’s Kelly Overton.

Children can sample fresh vegetables and fruit from local farmers and get tips on how to eat healthy and sustainably. Positive message children’s books and desert animal coloring pages will be available at no charge through MAP’s Mojave Reading Project.

Attendees are encouraged to bring unopened cans, bags and boxes of pet food to be distributed to animals in need by Mojave Pet Food Bank. There will be a table where unwanted plastic items, including bags, can be dropped for recycling.
