Search teams will brave triple-digit temperatures for a fifth day today hoping to find a Westminster couple reported missing in Joshua Tree National Park Friday. The couple, Rachel Nguyen, 20, and Joseph Orbeso, 21, came to the park Thursday for a hiking trip and haven’t been seen since. Their car was found near the Maze Loop, a 4.8-mile moderately trafficked loop trail located in the northwest area of the park. Officials were alerted to the situation when the couple didn’t check out of their Air BnB, leaving their belongings. Joshua Tree Search and Rescue volunteers believe the couple went missing sometime after 6 a.m. Friday morning. Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue, San Bernardino County Sheriffs and California Highway Patrol personnel are all looking for the couple. Officials are asking anyone who believes they may have seen the couple to call 909-383-5652.
