WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETS IN YUCCA VALLEY SATURDAY

When our Vietnam Veterans returned home after the war, they were not met with a welcome that we have become accustomed to today. For these reasons, Carl Gorham, a WWII veteran, decided to give them the welcome home they truly deserved. Reporter Eric Knabe has the details…
Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day is open to everybody to include veterans of all eras, family members and even the grateful community. Come on down to the Yucca Valley Community Center March 31, from 1 to 4 p.m. to give these veterans the welcome home they never had. The event will include speeches from Vietnam veterans, refreshments, veteran resources, and a silent auction to which the proceeds go directly to funding the event for next year. The San Bernardino County Office of Veteran’s Affairs will be present issuing county ID cards. To obtain a county ID, the veteran must bring a copy of their most recent DD214.
