WE REVIEW THE WHODUNIT “THE MOUSETRAP” AT THEATRE 29

Theatre 29 opened “The Mousetrap” last weekend. Entertainment reporter Rebecca Havely attended and says director Katie Fleischman makes a directorial debut befitting the Theatre 29 mainstage with Agatha Christie’s mystery thriller…

A group of travelers find themselves snowed-in with a murderer afoot. Sergeant Trotter convincingly played by Chris Fleischman, arrives to protect the group from a murderer he believes will kill again. Giles and Molly Ralston are deftly portrayed by a pair of theatre vets, Charles Harvey and Char Childs. The eccentric architect Christopher Wren is enthusiastically portrayed by Robert Ames. The bitter Mrs. Boyle is played with verve by Kathryn Ferguson and the androgynous Miss Caswell is pleasantly portrayed by Lisa Goldberg. Rounding out the cast are Ron Bottorff as the stern Major Metcalf and the mysterious Mr. Paravicini played by Joe Rego. The cozy set is complete with falling snow, a burning fire and lighting that sets a mysterious mood, complete with lovely period costumes.

“The Mousetrap” will run Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s at 2:30 through October 22. For tickets visit theatre29.org or call the Theatre 29 box office at 760-361-4151.
