WE MEET MISS YUCCA VALLEY CONTESTANT DEBORAH SIMPSON

Eight poised and ready young women have been working hard for months preparing for this Saturday’s Miss Yucca Valley scholarship pageant. The Rotary Club sponsored event will be held at 6:00 pm at the Joshua Springs Thunderdome in Yucca Valley and tickets are available at the door. Today, reporter Kirby Davis introduces us to candidate Deborah Simpson…

Today we are talking with Deborah Simpson. Deborah, tell us about yourself.

“My name is Deborah, I go to Yucca Valley High School. I play tennis and I’m on the swim team.”

Deborah Simpson

Who is the prominent woman you interviewed, and what did you learn from her?

“My prominent woman was Allesa Falossi. Mrs. Falossi really showed me the meaning to love and compassion for the people around you.”
What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?

“I’ve learned that even though you may not see yourself doing something like public speaking, interviews or even a pageant, you should step out of your comfort zone and push yourself to do it. You’ll never know if you kept yourself from accomplishing something great. If you’re a sophomore girl, you should definitely go out for Miss Yucca next year. Even if you don’t see yourself as the type to go out for a pageant, still do it, don’t limit yourself.”
