WE MEET MISS YUCCA VALLEY CANDIDATE MADISON TUTTLE

The annual Miss Yucca Valley scholarship pageant is set for Saturday, February 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Thunderdome at Joshua Springs church. The annual event, sponsored by the Yucca Valley Rotary Club, will see seven high school juniors competing in a contest based on academics and poise. Today reporter Andrew Dieleman introduces us to contestant Madison Tuttle…

Today we visit with Madison Tuttle, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Hi Madison. Tell us, who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned?

“The prominent woman I interviewed was Christina Garcia. She taught me that in life, we will find ourselves in situations that may be unexpected and we may not know how to handle them. In these types of situations, we need to teach ourselves how to be strong, courageous, and independent, which is the greatest lesson that anybody has taught me.”

What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?

“Miss Yucca Valley has taught me how to push myself out of my comfort zone. My comfort zone is my favorite place to reside, and no one has pushed me to leave that zone. Miss Yucca has shown me that leaving that comfortable space can help me immensely in other aspects of my life, such as job interviews, speeches, or even just having the skills to make conversation with people you’ve never met before.”

Any final words?

“I’m so thankful that I was able to be a part of Miss Yucca Valley, and get to know this group of girls these past few months, I’m wishing them all the best of luck, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone on pageant night.”

Thank you Madison.
