WATER VENDING MACHINE STOLEN FROM A LANDERS CONVENIENCE STORE

The Sheriff’s is investigating a case of a stolen water dispensing machine in Landers. According to a Sheriff’s report, two men in an older model white flat-bed truck arrived at the Halliday convenience store in the 56000 block of Reche Road in Landers about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. A surveillance video showed that the men broke the water line to the Glacier water machine, which had been sitting unsecured outside the store for five years, and then dragged the machine down Acoma Trail to New Dixie Mine Road. The deputy located the abandoned machine, with its door forced open, on Dixie Mine Road. The machine is valued at about $11,000. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
