WANTED PAROLEE CAUGHT HIDING FROM DEPUTIES IN JOSHUA TREE

A parolee-at-large is back behind bars after he attempted to hide from Sheriff’s deputies in Joshua Tree. Saturday, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a residence in the 3100 block of Inez Avenue after a report of a parolee-at-large living at the location. Deputies responding to the call found that Shawn Anderson, 44, had an active felony parole violation warrant for his arrest and obtained photographs of him. Upon arrival, deputies found the house surrounded by a chain linked fence. They saw a man matching Anderson’s description run from the primary residence into the detached garage. Deputies called out to him to surrender and he locked himself in the garage and ignored their orders. Members of the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Division (S.E.D.), responded and a search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed by S.E.D. Shawn Anderson was found inside the garage hiding on a second story loft behind storage boxes. He was taken into custody and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for his outstanding warrant and resisting arrest.
