TWO YUCCA VALLEY MEN ARRESTED IN TWO INCIDENTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday night, accused of choking and biting a woman. According to a Sheriff’s report, Benjamin Benstead, 24, was arguing with a woman about 9:45 p.m. in the 7400 block of Hopi Trail. Benstead is accused of wrapping his arm around her neck. After she slapped him, Benstead allegedly bit her arm. Benjamin Benstead was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
 
A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday night, accused of beating up his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, neighbors reported that Carl Heinz, 49, was fighting a woman in the 7200 block of Cherokee Trail about 10:20 p.m. Heinz was upset because she had talked to her ex-boyfriend earlier in the day. Heinz allegedly slapped his girlfriend in the face; she suffered a swollen left eye, cuts on her face, and had blood on her clothing and hands. The report states Heinz also had minor cuts on his face and blood stains on his hands and clothing. Carl Heinz was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
