TWO WEEKS: NO SIGN OF CORWIN, ABANDONED MINES BEING SEARCHED

More than two weeks after she disappeared, there’s still no sign of a pregnant Twentynine Palms woman, The County Sheriff says search teams have combed 200 square miles of remote desert. Erin Corwin, who turns 20 today, the wife of a Marine, was last seen June 28 at her home aboard the Twentynine Palms Marine Base. San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials have said, “The search has shown no sign of Erin, and her disappearance does not appear to be voluntary.” Residents East of Twentynine Palms say helicopters have been ferrying groups of searchers from Luckie Park to the Old Dale Mining District, an area pocked with abandoned mines east and south of Twentynine Palms. Investigators say the search may transition into a criminal investigation at any time. Corwin is 5-feet-2 and 120 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. Anyone with additional details may call detectives at 909-387-3589.
