TWO PERRIS MEN CONVICTED OF HOME INVASION ROBBERY IN DESERT HOT SPRINGS

Two Perris men were convicted Thursday of a home invasion robbery in Desert Hot Springs. On June 3, Edward Inzunza, 22, and Antonio Sanchez, 29, went to a home in the 68100 block of Via Domingo, where they held an elderly couple at gunpoint, then beat and robbed them, before stealing their vehicle. The investigation led Desert Hot Springs police to Perris where they served search warrants and arrested Inzunza and Sanchez. Edward Inzunza and Antonio Sanchez were convicted of burglary, robbery, carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of elder abuse, and criminal threats. In addition, enhancements were found to be true concerning the use of a firearm during a felony and the victims being over 65 years of age. Edward Inzunza was sentenced to 15 years in state prison; Antonio Sanchez was sentenced to 10 years.
