TWO PEOPLE—INCLUDING DEPUTY—INJURED IN SEPARATE ROLLOVER CRASHES ON MORONGO GRADE

Two people—including a Sheriff’s deputy–were injured in separate rollover crashes on the Morongo Grade. According to Morongo Valley Fire Engineer Ryan Murphy, a Sheriff’s deputy rolled his patrol car on the westbound side of the highway on the grade about 7:20 p.m. Monday night. Murphy said the patrol car rolled down the embankment and the deputy—who was not identified—was out of the car when rescuers arrived. He was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with non-life-threatening injuries.
Then about 4:20 Tuesday morning, Morongo Valley firefighters were called out to another rollover crash on the Morongo Grade. This car also rolled down the embankment and the driver had gotten out of the car on his own before firefighters arrived. He was also taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
