TWO ARRESTS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN YUCCA VALLEY

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday, after his girlfriend said he assaulted her. According to a Sheriff’s report, Todd Stewart, 36, of the 6900 block of Balsa Avenue, was arguing with his girlfriend shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. His girlfriend told police that a pushing match started between them when Stewart tried to stop her from leaving. She said Stewart grabbed her and pushed her to the ground. Deputies found Stewart in the desert just south of the residence, where he said he had gone to cool off. Todd Stewart, who denied physically assaulting his girlfriend, was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.

Another Yucca Valley man was arrested Wednesday after neighbors told police they saw the man drag a woman from the street into the house after she tried to run away. According to a police report, Francisco Rojas, 38, of the 7400 block of Lucerne Vista, was arguing with his wife of three years about 8:30 p.m. When his wife attempted to leave, Rojas grabbed her by the arm and bit her back and arm several times while forcing her back into the house. Deputies determined that the woman had bruising and scratches on her body and Rojas had no visible injuries or complaint of pain. Francisco Rojas was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
