TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

Two people were arrested following a high-speed police pursuit that started in Apple Valley and ended in Landers Tuesday afternoon. According to the Sheriff’s Department, about 1:30 p.m., deputies noticed that a white Honda was being driven without any license plates, and attempted a traffic stop on Highway 18 in Apple Valley. The driver, later identified as Roger Stidham, 45, of San Bernardino, refused to stop and fled eastbound on the highway. Deputies pursued the Honda at speeds reaching 75 miles per hour, and twice put spike strips on the highway, but Stidham was able to drive around the strips. The pursuit continued onto Highway 247 when at 2:16 p.m., the car stopped on its own in the 1100 block of Old Woman Springs Road in Landers. Roger Stidham was arrested for investigation of being in possession of a stolen vehicle and evading arrest. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000. His passenger, Precious Kozelou, 27, of San Bernardino, was arrested on a felony warrant and is being held without bail.
