TWO ARRESTED AFTER MAKING THREATS IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Sunday after he threatened to kill his roommate. According to a Sheriff’s report, Robert Christen, 52, got into a fight with his roommate in the 61500 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree about 3 p.m. The roommate told deputies that Christen pulled out a knife and threatened to kill him, and that he was in fear for his life. The deputy searched Christen and found a switchblade knife in Christen’s pants pocket. Robert Christen was arrested for making criminal threats and for possession of a dirk or dagger, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Saturday after he threatened to kill his wife and stepson. According to a Sheriff’s report, the stepson called deputies about 10:45 p.m. because Rigoberto Torres, 38, reached for something in his pocket and said everyone was going to die. Deputies searched Torres and found a knife in his pocket. Rigoberto Torres was arrested for investigation of making criminal threats, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
