A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested early Saturday morning, accused of stealing a vehicle from the Tortoise Rock Casino parking lot. According to a Sheriff’s report, the owner of a 1999 Dodge truck was at Tortoise Rock Casino about midnight Saturday. When he was ready to leave about 2:30 a.m., he discovered his truck had been stolen. About 5:15 a.m., the deputy saw the stolen truck being driven westbound on Two Mile Road in Twentynine Palms. The deputy chased the driver into a residential neighborhood and the occupants fled from the truck. The deputy found Candace Castro, 26, hiding behind a bush about five feet from the truck. After an investigation, Candace Castro was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
