The Twentynine Palms Water District aims to tackle an ambitious agenda at tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting. Following public comments, the board will adjourn for a closed session conference with labor negotiators. Once back in open session, the board will consider a plan for managing the pension liabilities of district employees likely to move to county contracts if the fire department annexation plan is approved. And among other items, the board will review a proposed budget for fiscal 2016/2017. Following a brief break, the district will turn attention to fire department business with reports from finance and the fire chief; there are no action items. It all happens at the District Office on the south side of Hatch Road in Twentynine Palms.
