TWENTYNINE PALMS RECREATION BASKETBALL ALL-STARS BRING HOME THE HARDWARE

The 29 Palms Recreation All Stars brought home hardware from Beaumont and Redondo Beach Basketball tournaments.
The fifth- and sixth-grade boys’, seventh-grade boys’ and seventh- and eighth-grade girls’ teams traveled to Beaumont this past weekend. The fifth and sixth graders came in second place while the seventh grade team boys and eighth grade girls’ teams both came in third. Aiden Sullivan, Carson Estrada and Journey Platzke were named to the all-tournament teams for their respective divisions.

The fifth- and sixth-girls’ and eighth-grade boys’ teams made the longer trek to Redondo Beach where they were able to hold their own against tough competition and both eventually advanced to the championship on Sunday. The teams played hard, but both ended up losing in the championship game in their divisions. Kate Bobadilla was still named the MVP of the tournament.
