A new law regulating massage parlors went into effect this year. At tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission, commissioners will discuss the changes and provide direction to staff on city regulations for massage parlors. Also on tonight’s agenda, the commission will be asked to approve a request to vacate a street easement for Juanita Drive, Desert Flower Avenue, and Old Dale Road. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in city hall on Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.

Hopefully they’ll curb the amount of illicit activity at these so-called “spas.” It’s bad enough that the Marines frequent them often enough to keep them in business. There are a few on Adobe that have bad reputations, it is a shame that no one seems to want to investigate them. They should be shut down.

I know the ones you’re talking about. The owner at one dresses provocatively and shows off a lot of cleavage. What massage parlor has staff that dress like that?

Good question. But these type of places have been around for awhile. But so called spas like BKK will certainly be in place for the time being. The town of 29 doesn’t seem inclined to do anything about what is going on.
