“Jingle Paws,” the six-week pet food drive sponsored by the Twentynine Palms Palms-n-Paws animal shelter, showed that people have a big heart when it comes to animals. Residents dropped off 2200 pounds of dry food and 700 cans of pet food to the animal shelter or one of the four other drop-off locations throughout the city in November and December. The Twentynine Palms animal shelter is housing more than 100 dogs and nearly 30 cats who are waiting for a new home. The shelter’s hours are Monday through Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 11 to 2.
