TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN SUSPECTED OF ARSON ARRESTED

A Twentynine Palms man suspected of starting a vehicle fire earlier this month was arrested Friday. According to Sheriff’s reports, on November 3, firefighters and deputies were called to an area near Adobe Road and Amboy Road about 9 a.m. for a report of a vehicle fire. A man and woman were identified at the location—Richard Sansoucie 34, and Brittany Phillips, 22—but they fled before they could be questioned. Deputies later stopped by the home of Phillips and Sansoucie in the 72300 block of Old Dale Road in Twentynine Palms and arrested Brittany Phillips for investigation of being an accessory to arson. On Friday, deputies returned to the home and located Sansoucie. Richard Sansoucie was arrested for investigation of arson, violating a restraining order, and on warrants for burglary and spousal abuse. Richard Sansoucie was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
