TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT

The Twentynine Palms man who was hit by a car Saturday night remains on life support, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. Jason Harpel, 38, was walking southbound on Lear Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 9 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by Alissa Myers, 25, who was driving southbound on Lear. Harpel suffered significant head injuries and has been in intensive care on life support ever since at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
