TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN FOUND WITH STOLEN DIRT BIKE

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Sunday after he was found with a dirt bike that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. About 8:30 a.m. Sunday, a resident in the 5900 block of Aztec Avenue in Twentynine Palms reported that two dirt bikes had been stolen from his home. Deputies had no suspects in the case. Later that day, at 4:40 p.m. a deputy stopped a truck with a dirt bike in the bed in the 5300 block of Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms. The deputy determined that the dirt bike had been reported stolen that morning. The suspect in the truck, Eriberto Nieves, 53, was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle. Eriberto Nieves was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
