TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN FOUND WITH LOADED HANDGUN

A Twentynine Palms man who had a misdemeanor vandalism warrant was arrested after he was found with a loaded handgun. About 1 p.m. Friday, deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle near Ocotillo Avenue and Joshua Drive in Twentynine Palms because the car didn’t have license plates. The driver, Jervon Winston, was wanted for an active warrant for misdemeanor vandalism. During a search of Winston, the deputy found a loaded unregistered handgun in a fanny pack slung across his chest. Jervon Winston was arrested for possession of a concealed loaded firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
