TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Monday afternoon when he was found to have several illegal weapons in his possession. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies received reports about 12:30 p.m. of a man, dressed in camouflage lying on the ground, with some sort of equipment next to him, on Desert Dunes Drive, just north of Manana. When deputies arrived, the man, later identified as John Griesbach, 49, being uncooperative with firefighters. During a search of Griesbach, a deputy found composite knuckles, five knives, and ammunition in his possession, which Griesbach said he carried for his protection. After an investigation, Griesbach was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous weapons, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $35,000.
