TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER SHOT HIS BROTHER

We have more information about a Twentynine Palms man who was arrested Sunday morning, accused of attempted murder. Investigators were called to the 5300 block of Chia Avenue in Twentynine Palms just after 10 a.m. Sunday. According to deputies, Robert Salazar, 37, and his brother Richard Salazar, 35, also of Twentynine Palms, were arguing when Robert Salazar shot his brother in the abdomen. Robert Salazar fled the scene in a vehicle before deputies arrived. Richard Salazar was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Just before noon, deputies located Robert Salazar in the 59000 block of Aberdeen Drive in the Yucca Mesa area of Yucca Valley. Robert Salazar was arrested for investigation of attempted murder, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million.
