TWENTYNINE PALMS MAN ARRESTED AFTER FIGHTING WITH SHERIFF’S DEPUTY

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday, accused of fighting with a Sheriff’s deputy. Sheriff’s reports said the deputy was called to the 6600 block of Adobe Road about 7 p.m. for a report of a man brandishing a knife. When the deputy arrived, the man, later identified as David Fry, 41, was walking away and refused to stop even when the deputy activated the patrol car’s emergency lights. When the deputy tried to stop Fry, Fry resisted, and the deputy took him to the ground, where Fry then tried to wrap his arms around the deputy’s legs and push the deputy on his back. After a struggle, David Fry was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
