TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS ENCOURAGED TO PLAY OVER THE SUMMER

Even as the school year starts winding down, volleyball players at Twentynine Palms High School are being urged to stay competitive during the summer. ROP Broadcast student Allix Durrum talked with Coach Melissa Mintz….
This year’s high school’s volleyball tryouts are coming up. We talked to Coach Mintz and asked her about it and she said the tryouts will begin “For this year, they’ll start two weeks before school starts.” She also said that, “You have to have a physical, your grades have to have a 2.0.” She said she looks for “good attitude; someone that’s willing to learn.” We also asked how she decides who she’s going to choose to be on the junior varsity team and she told us, “Um, I actually have a little system. Checks, minuses, and pluses and you add them all up and you basically you take the top twelve. Coach Mintz had also said that if she were to tell future players anything she would say, “Do something over the summer.”
