TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WINS GREENLEAF SCHOLARSHIP

A Twentynine Palms High School senior has been named the recipient of Copper Mountain College’s 2015 Greenleaf Scholarship. Kamaljot Singh is no stranger to Copper Mountain College, as he has been taking classes there since his freshman year in high school. The all-inclusive scholarship will pay Singh’s tuition, books, fees, and living expenses while at Copper Mountain College. The scholarship will continue to pay those expenses while he completes his degree in electrical engineering at a four-year college or university of his choice. Copper Mountain College will host an awards ceremony 5:30 p.m. April 9 in the Bell Center’s front foyer to honor Singh and recognize the four other finalists for the Greenleaf Scholarship: Kylie Howell, Marie Linton, Elizabeth Schmelling, and Vanessa Valle with a $500 scholarship. In addition, all applicants to the Greenleaf scholarship were awarded the inaugural Try One on Us Scholarship by the college foundation, which pays for the student’s tuition, books, and fees for their first year at Copper Mountain College. The public is invited to attend.
