TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER RESULTS

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ soccer team completed a strong third-place finish at the Gary Pettis Memorial Cup in Loma Linda Wednesday and Thursday. Coach Nathan Niles said great teamwork and strong field play led the Wildcats to three wins and one penalty-kick loss. The team had 106 total shots, with 31 goals on 18 assists, while allowing only two goals. After victories over Escondido Adventist Academy, Desert Christian Academy and the Academy For Academic Excellence, the Wildcat Soccer boys now have nine wins on the season. The Wildcats soccer season continues January 8 at 5 p.m. at West Shores High School in Salton City.  
Goalie Adam Pereira earned the Golden Glove Award for the tourney with three shutouts. Senior striker Nick Stowers scored nine goals and added five assists to earn the MVP Award, Golden Boot Award and Top Assists Award for the tourney.

Goals also came from Tim Niles with five, Angel Zaragoza with three, Dante Smith-Evans with three, Donald Albers with three, Miguel Sosa with two and Manny Rios with two.  Additional scorers were Adan Herrera, Jason Walters, Nathan Delacruz and Kevin Perez. Assists also came from Jason Walters, Miguel Sosa, Adan Herrera, Donald Albers, Kevin Perez, Dante Smith-Evans, Angel Zaragoza, Tim Niles, Dylan Smith and Manny Rios.
